I think that your idea is wonderful, and I will help the news spread via word and even thru bulletins on myspace. - Aldo

The Plan
Establish a multi-block wifi district in central downtown that moves north to 10th Street from Ocean Blvd. and then east from Alamitos Avenue to Redondo Avenue.
Who benefits? Everyone. First, if you don't have internet at home, but have a wifi capable device and are within our coverage area, you now have internet at home. Even if you do have Internet at home, now you have Internet in your front yard and across the street under the shady tree. Second, if you are visiting Long Beach as a conventioneer or tourist and you need directions to a restaurant or theater or particular address, you now have access to that information from ANYWHERE our network covers. Third, a public wifi system can be used for emergency services and allows law enforcement and other civil authorities to securely access their networks from ANYWHERE within our coverage area for critical data when it counts.
So, the plan is really up to YOU. We think a public wifi network is a cool and economically sound idea that benefits all residents of Long Beach. What do you think? Because our success depends on your involvement.
